Fox Mill Students Fight World Hunger by Participating in Onigiri Action
The Fox Mill student body helped fight world hunger by participating in Onigiri Action on November 1 through November 2. During the event, Fox Mill students learned about the cultural significance of the Japanese treat, then made and enjoyed their own onigiri. The event was sponsored by Table for Two, a non-profit which provides five healthy meals to children in need for each photo of onigiri shared to the Onigiri Action website and on social media. Fifth grade teacher, Yoko Linam, explains, “It was a great opportunity to introduce part of Japanese culture to our entire school population while helping children in need around the world.” Principal Brian Moose adds, “Fox Mill students are always looking for opportunities to give back to the community. I am so proud of the students participating in this wonderful event.”
