Fox Mill students and staff saluted the veterans and service members in our community with a Veteran's Day celebration.

Fox Mill’s Veterans Day celebration is 3 years old!  I’m so proud that our school has made our Veterans and their families a priority.  This day has particularly strong meaning to me because 20 years ago, I married a soldier.  Where that soldier goes, has always been home to me.  We have endured many separations in our family as our Soldier deployed to foreign lands, and it has taught my boys and me about resilience, independence, and anticipation as we anxiously would await his return after a long tour.  There were many things we couldn’t share; birthdays, holidays and anniversaries were missed.  We looked forward to a reunion when we would celebrate all these things on a slightly different timeline.

Our many moves to different duty stations brought us new friends and memories to treasure.  Our time shared with our military family made us miss our own relatives a bit less.  Our time as a military family was wonderful and I wouldn’t change my life as an Army wife for anything in the world.

I’m so grateful to all our Veterans and their families for their many sacrifices to our Nation.
