By Stephanie Alger Photo Gallery February 15, 2019 Share Page Mrs. Nandury's 2nd grade students gave back to the community as part of their celebration, by assembling care packages for residents of local homeless shelters. We had a surprise visit from a Fairfax County police officer who delivered valentines to our students. Ms. Treharne's students made special valentines for their loved ones. Mrs. Clarke and Nakayama Sensei's students created valentines for their parents. Students attempted to place the lips on Mrs. Valentine while wearing a blindfold in Mrs. Musti's kindergarten class. Valentines were exchanged between buddies in Ms. Flores' and Ms. Byrum's classes. Students created valentines by turning hearts into butterflies with Ms. Byrum. Students in Daiten Sensei's class decorated bags to collect their valentines. First grade students decorated cookies as part of their celebration. A Valentine's Day themed escape room activity in Mrs. Stanton's class encouraged student collaboration and critical thinking skills, as they worked to solve riddles before time ran out. Ms. Moran's students created pretty heart valentines from tissue paper and glue. The front office staff treated teachers to a soup-er lunch.
